August 9, 2025 – In the face of increasing drought challenges in the Middle East and North Africa, the GreenXMENA 2025 Forum is now open for applications. This forum is the first of its kind in the region to focus on water issues and climate resilience and will be held in Tunisia from October 29 to 31, 2025.
Organized by the Arab Youth Green Voices Network (AYGVN) and Green Gates 4 MENA Youth (GG4MENAY), and funded by the Dutch government, the forum aims to empower more than 150 youths aged 18 to 25 from 12 Arab countries; especially from marginalized groups and persons with disabilities, to become active players in innovating sustainable solutions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 6 “Clean Water and Sanitation” and Goal 13 “Climate Action”).
GreenXMENA 2025, in which the letter “X” stands for “Exchange,” seeks to serve as a platform for sharing expertise and strengthening cooperation. Participants will discuss three main themes: linking water, climate, and resilience; justice and equity in water action; and youth empowerment and multi-sectoral collaboration.
The forum will offer participants the opportunity to prepare a roadmap and a comprehensive policy paper to be presented at major international conferences such as COP30, the United Nations Water Conference in Dubai, and the World Water Forum in Riyadh, ensuring that youth perspectives are integrated into global efforts.
