Participation of the Green Voices Network for Arab Youth in the 2023 Conference of the Parties

The Arab Youth Green Voices Network “AYGVN” is a non-profit youth civil society network, whose leaders, young men and women from several Arab countries, seek to support transformative change on the issue of climate change and environmental problems by raising awareness of these issues and focusing on the efforts of young men and women in the region. In this regard, in the Arab world, by providing reliable content and success stories of young women who have addressed problems related to climate change and the environment in the region, and working to build the capabilities of young people in this aspect.

This year, during the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), which was held in the United Arab Emirates at Expo Dubai, 13 members of the Green Voices Network for Arab Youth attended, as one of the network’s goals to work on developing its members through networking and involving them in global conferences related to climate change. With more than half of the Arab region’s population under the age of 30, it is extremely important that young people are represented at #COP28.

On December 8th

Serious Game – “Water, Energy and Food Security in Sinai”

In cooperation with HCSS – the Haag Center for Strategic Studies, the network hosted a serious game in the Blue Zone and it was in the English language. The game scenario was the Sinai region and about finding solutions to the problems of energy, water and food security, where young participants from different countries had the opportunity to take on the role of decision makers to address challenges related to the impact of… Climate change on food, water and energy in the Sinai region as a case study to formulate effective policies and solutions and get the opportunity to learn, discuss and play at the same time!

On December 9th

Symposium on “Youth Recycling Projects in the Arab Region: Transforming Waste into Wealth”

In cooperation with the Arab Federation  of Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies  IFRC – the network organized an event on youth projects in the Arab region related to recycling.

During this event, there was an important opportunity for  young people to share their ideas and innovations in the field of recycling and circular economy and present them to those interested in the field.
